FROM THE EDITOR...

EXCUSES, EXCUSES: things that delayed this issue (pick your favorite): wedding, honeymoon, ice storm, power outage, lethargy, ennui, bitchy computers, bad internet connections, under siege by Gauls, rhinoplasty, deadbeat editor, real jobs, poor html skills, hockey season, World Series, liqour, spirits, ghosts, cable tv, too many records, etc.

ABOUT THIS ISSUE: It's a great one. You've already seen a bit of it in the form of interviews with Clockcleaner, Paul Schlacter/Noncommercial Records and Tom Lax of Siltbreeze. But there's much more. An all-too-brief chat with The Wrists. An update on the Black Time situation. Battleship vs. Erick Hughes. A few moments with Ben Wallers and the Country Teasers. Richard Fucking Adventure vs. Hue Blanc's Joyless Ones. One of my favorite TB features ever, The TB Field Guide to GG Allin, by our collector pal Jay Litchfield. Part Two is upcoming! A couple of new columns from Dave Hyde ("Cheap Rewards" featuring Ego Summit) and Justin Collectorscum (the second installment of "Too Much Junk"). An excellent feature on the TV Party public access show from guest correspondent Sarah. The return of Obsessive-Compulsive Rock'n'Roll from Icki, something I've been after him to do for a long long time. Hopefully the first of many new installments (and by the way, Mark is out on tour photographing Defect Defect right now, so buy him gin and tonics and processed meat products if you see him). The first and last Sweet Ronnie Coz column. Belated coverage of the last Blackout and this summer's Dot Dash fest. Garbage Can and Closet Cases by the editor. And our first Guest Column, by Frank from Vegetative State, which I think is especially timely considering the other Columbus-based content in this issue. Plus, the mega-reviews column you've hopefully been staring at for the past week. I think that's it?

THE STAFF: You may have noticed some familiar faces missing or soon-to-be. Scott Soriano is scaling back his duties review-wise, but will still be on board as a columnist and guidance counselor in the future. Check out his new project The Zap Gun with his cohort Ryan Wells. Eric Lastname regrettably resigned some time ago. Both Anonymous Goy and Sweet Ronnie Coz have divorced us citing irreconcilable message board differences. We thank him for 13 straight columns. Todd Trickknee appears to have effectively retired. Young Steve is in a funk. Dasha and Phil Honululu seem to be AWOL. If you see either of them, tell 'em we said Hi. Also, Jesse has moved to Japan, please check the contacts page for his change of address. We have added a couple of ace new reviewers in the form of Mikes Sniper and Hunchback, and we thank them for their help and for everyone else still on board and pitching in. Which brings us to...

HELP WANTED: We need your help. Firstly, there is the general cattle call for contributions, be it interviews, features, guides, or whatever. We'd particularly like to see more stuff along the lines of this issue's TV Party, GG Guide, Cheap Rewards, or Too Much Junk articles. We're very nice when it comes to people wanting to help, so please inquire. Also, anyone wishing to do a guest column or even a full-fledged running one, we're all ears. Even if it's just a one-shot deal, we'd be interested. Also, we're expanding into the suitably obscure film/book areas, so if you'd like to help with that as well, we're again all ears. And lastly, we actually have a slot open for a record reviewer. As far as qualifications, well, it should be someone who buys a lot of records, because TB isn't the free shit gravy train everyone thinks it is. Someone who stays up-to-date with current stuff would be a big help, past review experience is always a plus, but as long as you're a good (and hopefully intelligent and funny) writer, we'll work it out. Help us serve you, our audience, better by getting in touch: termibore-at-aol.com.

UPCOMING: What will Issue 14 hold and when will it be here? Fuck if I know. We will be back between Thanksgiving and Christmas with a short reviews update. Then I foresee a Best-Of-2006 Issue in early January and hopefully a full-fledged Issue 14 sometime shortly after that (perhaps in time for Valentine's Day...perhaps sooner...). If you want to be a part of it all, have suggestions, comments, or anything else, please do let us know...
